I've used just about every filter type made over the years, but always come back to my synthetic filter disks for a very good reason. They're ten times thicker than tyvek, with a smaller micron size. Mine are made from PFTE specifically for gasses and filter down to .05 micron, which is much smaller than any laminar flow hood filters out.

Note: Quickest , cheapest and easiest way to make lids it to use a nail (or paper punch) to make a hole in the lid, then cover hole with 2-3 layers of medical (paper-type) micropore tape. There are many other ways to make these lids found online or on you tube. Once the jars are cooled you are now ready to use your liquid culture syringe.

Feb 12, 2021 · I use to use eazyfelt held in place with micropore tape and i had the same issue with my filters getting wet. I just sprayed the filter with 10% bleach and then covered with another layer of tape after it dried. Eazyfelt and micropore tape is cheap so i considered them disposable. I copied workmans No Tilt Jar Lids and they work really well.
