Mar 09, 2018 · And . . . mushroom bags are WAY easier than comparable volume in jars - bigger volume, easy to knead / mix, has a vent already, not too expensive. Quart mason jars are 1 quart totally full to the brim. The usable volume is barely 2/3 quart. Thus if you want a gallon of usable, mixable spawn, you need about 6 jars vs one mushroom bag of spawn.
