Dec 05, 2013 · Syringe filters should be used for liquid cultures, not grain jars. They don't provide enough gas exchange for grains, whereas LC's don't need GE. Use the discs for grain jars. Anyway, I'm surprised that a site sponsor is selling grain jars with syringe filters for GE.
