Sep 10, 2018 · Many syringe filters are not hydrophobic but hydrophilic. Even PTFE filters can somehow be either hydrophobic or hydrophilic, I have ran into syringe filters that said both with PTFE filters. PTFE is what you want to filter air. PES is designed to filter liquids; and it is not as sturdy nor as long-lasting.
