I think that's the spelling. but ptfe is yes, Teflon. because it is a plastic, you can actually get 2 different versions, hydrophobic and hydrophilic. hydrophobic means water does not saturate the medium. hydrophilic means water will saturate the medium. so far, I don't think anything will grow on ptfe unless a nutritional media got on it. for
