you dont need FAE in your jars TBH, just speed things along. looking back 2 days and after asking much the same question i would not have made filters for my lids they will grow just fine, easier to shake, less likely to contam. but to answer your question no a syringe filter will not provide FAE. i would go with either filter disks or tyvek and some RTV See more results

I use these for placing filters on mason jar lids for doing liquid mushroom spawn and for grain spawn jars. I have used a couple of dozen filters so far. I have had no issues. They jars / lids / filters do go through a pressure cooker. Depending on the whether I'm doing liquid culture or a grain spawn, that means either 30 or 90 minutes at 15 psi.
