Syringe filters (Millex-LG, PTFE, 0.20 μm, 4 mm) were purchased from Merck. InertSep SAX (100 mg/3 mL, GL Sciences, Tokyo, Japan) was used for solid-phase extraction (SPE).
The larger filter surface area increases flow rate and throughput. It also makes it easier to filter solutions because it reduces the pressure required to empty the syringe. Millex filters have a maximum housing pressure of 10.5 bar (150 psi), which means you can filter solutions faster than before.
